Your Questions About Pet Clothing For Dogs

John asks…

Why do people dress their dogs up?

It’s like they think they’re babies.

Do people really have no common sense?

Dogs have fur for a reason. FACT. The only time I ever dress my dog up is when it’s cold or wet outside and that’s just because he’s got very short hair on his underside and I hate to think of him being cold. I don’t dress him up like he’s a child or a doll. The worst he’s had is a novelty velcro bow-tie which he wore over Christmas but even that came off after a few minutes.

People need to look at their pets body language when they start dressing them up. All they will see are signs that the animal is uncomfortable with what is happening to them. They will look away, lick their lips or their tail may slip between their legs – all these are signs of anxiety.

Personally, I think it’s very cruel. And when people try and justify what they do by saying their dog loves clothes, I just want to laugh. A dog doesn’t give a toss. No, dressing up a pet is definitely to satisfy an owner’s ego. It is not beneficial to the dog at all (unless of course it’s to protect them against the elements).

Why do people still insist on doing this?

admin answers:

Because those people are crazy

Cat: The coat isn’t so we can dress him up like a doll, it is for the winter. He loves snow, but ends up getting cold, so we are going to buy him a coat to stop him getting a cold or worse.

admin answers:

Awww, he is cute! I looked at all of the jackets, and I like the 2nd one the best. It looks comfortable, warm, yet would look nice against his coat colors. (The brown, would bring out his eyes!) Looks perfect for him. Just my opinion!

If you don’t like that one, then my 2nd favorite was the 3rd link.

Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Helen asks…

please help! didn’t have sex, but could i be pregnant?

**my friend needs to know

first of all i am a virgin!!!
however, a week ago i was fooling around with a guy. i gave him a handjob and he came. we both got it on our hands; i got it on my finger, and he says he got it on the back of his hand, but we both rinsed it off. later he fingered me, but not that deeply. after coming in contact with many things (petting his dog, changing clothes, etc) i very briefly masturbated.

i’m expecting my period in a week, but i am trying not to freak out, because i don’t want to psych myself out. tons have people have told me that this it’s so hard for me to actually be pregnant. but i’m still very scared.

believe me, i have learned my lesson the hard way. even if i’m not (which i hope i’m not) pregnant, i will not be fooling around with any guys for a very long time. i have too much to look forward to in my future, and this pregnancy scare is horrible :( please try not to judge me. thanks.

admin answers:

You are fine. Not pregnant.
But ya, I agree, you are NOT ready to be doing that stuff and you know it. Dont let anybody pressure you, its your body, and only yours. Set your limits waaay ahead of time, know what you are willing and not willing to do. And dont let anyone cross that line, that line is yours to set, and other people must respect it. Anyone who cares about you will.

William asks…

Need a name for an online dog boutique that sells harnesses, clothing, jewelry, beds, etc. Suggestions?

I have searched online all evening and all suggestions people made in passed posts are taken. (pampered pet, petsrus, barkboutique, petparadise…) Help please

admin answers:

Since any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party, I wanted to go a different route…

Here’s a few things to keep in mind:

1) Keep your industry, your clients/customers, your advertising plan in mind.

2) The more unique & distinctive a name, the higher the chances that the name is legally available for use. And the higher the chances of obtaining the trademark.

3) Think of your business as having a personality. What kind of image do you want your business to portray?

Specific brainstorming tips:

Think about what you want but more importantly, think about what you DON’T want. If you don’t want a 3-word name, don’t bother with those. If you don’t want non-English words, don’t bother with those & so on and so forth.

What are the “types” of names you like? Think about words in their simple forms, e.g. Adjectives, Latin roots, mythological names, etc. Compile a listing of the types & then seek out resources, such as books or sites, which specialize in those types.

Here are some links where you can do some preliminary name checking:

http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=tess&state=tbmkb6.1.1 — USPTO – Preliminary Search of Federal trademarks
http://biztaxlaw.about.com/od/research/a/Sec_of_state.htm –Go to your state’s Secretary of State page to see if they have a searchable database of business names

http://www.hoovers.com/free/

http://www.thomasnet.com – Must register (free) to search their database

However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what’s out there.

Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I’d try them out first. This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
