You could call it Pawz or Purrfect looks. I think your clothing line should be different and make like socks with whatever clothes you use.I realy don’t have a preference on what kinds of clothes though.hope I helped =)

John asks…

Where can I buy costumes/clothes for a garden goose?

I have a statue of a goose in my front yard. I was told by a friend that people usually put some sort of clothing on them. Besides craft fairs, does anyone know where I can buy these clothes/costumes? I’ve seen bonnets on the same types of statues in other neighborhoods. I don’t want to knock on a stranger’s door! Target has a line of pet clothing. I tried but that did not work out so well.

admin answers:

I typed “clothes for goose” in the Yahoo search box and up came a dozen or so places that sell outfits for those life-size goose statues. (My daughter has one on her front porch.)

Those are awfully well-dressed geese!

Your Questions About Pet Clothes For Small Dog

Nancy asks…

Why is my dog so troublesome and cries a lot – how do I get her to stop? It could be jealously of other pets.?

When I got Pebbles (14 months) I never had a dog before. She was well behaved, just pulling at my clean clothes on the washing line. She cried every time I went out, I used to take her for walks but now she is so much trouble – jumping at people – tugging on the lead.

To keep her company I got another puppy about 6 months ago and shortly after a kitten. The puppy was a small breed and Pebbles being a rottweiller cross is a medium sized dog. Straight away there was problems, she was always trying to bite the little puppy, I had to take then outside separately, otherwise she would trample down the puppy and bite her (blood has been drawn).

Now Pebbles has regularly broken things around the home, including trashing my garage several times, bags of sand, cement, rubbish bags, brooms, buckets, plants.

Lately she dug up the water pipe- broke it, pulled the coaxil cable off the wall. I don’t ignore her but she is so strong I am unable to take her walking – we play together daily
We dont go for walks but I have a large lawn, and I take her outside and try to play fetch games with her and tugging games. This is done most mornings and evenings.
Pebbles was obeying commands till Bambi arrived.

The puppy (Bambi) gets attention – usually in the house I train her to sit , lie down and come with treats, she is taken for walks, and I play fetch with her – she returns the ball (Pebbles rarely does). Bambi is easily scared – not surpisingly, but she appears to be trained fairly easily. I’d like to bring Pebbles into the house, thats not possible at the moment – one of my goals.

I supervise both Pebbles and Bambi in the garden – neither are let out of my sight.

I spoke to a trainer yesterday – but her next round of classes is not till 30th June, meantime I will try more exercise for Pebbles and I was advised to get her lots of squeaky toys – although she usually manages to destroy a toy or ball within half an hour. I’ve tried chews she seems to swallow them whole cause they dont last 5 minutes.

admin answers:

She needs to go to obedience classes if you ever expect her to become a well trained dog with manners. Dogs aren’t born with good manners, they have to be taught.

Paul asks…

My dog has recently become scared of new things!?!?

My dog recently has become afraid of anything that changes in his environment. For example I live in an apartment and there was a motorcycle parked outside where cars usually park so he wouldn’t go out the front door until the motorcycle was gone. It can be small things too, for example he was afraid of a 12 pack of paper towel left on the table and some clothes left on top of the dryer. I don’t know if this is normal or not, and if there is anything I can do to make him less afraid of everything?
He’s a almost three now and never use to do this before, it’s just weird how it came out of nowhere . I try to give him lots of attention (he’s my only pet) Could it have anything to do with me moving a lot?

admin answers:

Dogs makes associations with almost everything in there lives. It is how they learn. You don’t want to comfort them too much when they are being afraid of something, then they will learn that it is a good thing to be afraid of it, and will continue to be weary.

This is what i tell people to do with dogs who become anxious around other dogs when on walks.
Next time the motorbike is out there when you’re going on a walk, bring some food treats with you. Have the dog sit, hold the food treat up to your face and have them focus your attention on you for up to 5 seconds, them give him the treat and praise. With time, he will learn that good things happen to him when the bike is around. If he is calm enough to eat, he should be able to gain confidence to walk by it.
Getting your dog to gain confidence is very important too. Have him walk through dark places, tight places, high places, etc

Sandra asks…

Need advice for a dog. Very Very Worried!?

We just rescued a sheltie mix just yesterday from a horrid owner around the evening, an he was in a horrid condition fleas everywhere, no shots, his toenails are ingrown, underweight, shedding, matted the works. We headed to pet-smart an got him things to help him out, such as oatmeal shampoo, slicker brush, front-line+, some food, an bowels since we didn’t have a dog. We brushed him before giving him a shower, taking some of the fleas off him, then showered him taking more fleas an relieving him of his itchy skin, dried him, then cut some of his mats of then finally used the front-line . His fleas are coming off, little by little, but it doesn’t seem to be working as good as I hoped for, but I just have to possibly be patient.

We also have an apt to take him to the vet on tuesday an get him his check up, shots, an neutered, as well as his ingrown toenails possibly removed or taken care off. What Im worried about is that he has YET to poop OR pee, since we first got him, an today. I dunno if I should wait till tuesday to tell them. I know that all this can cause a dog stress an am wondering if that is it, but Im also worried if there is something else wrong with him, he has such a lil appetite an will hardly eat or drink. He is somewhat lethargic, or he possibly just sleeps alot, because he is either stressed or very tired.

Any ideas on what I should do, advice for anything. Oh an if you are curious as to what I am feeding him, I am giving him Avodream, but I think I should change his food…he likes it an seems to nip at it when we hold the bowel to him, but I dont know if it is good for him….

An if it is an emergancy, an there is no 24/7 emergency pet clinic, what should I do? I have no way to get anywhere until 5 because that is when my fiancee comes home from work, as I do not have a car, an the Septa does not allow dogs, unless they are small, enclosed an can fit on your lap as to not disturb others.

Also should I wait for frontline to work or should I ask the vet for another flea, tick, larve, ect killer for my pet.

Ps: Also while he is at the vet from 9-5 I plan to do a FULL ON cleaning on sheets, clothing, bedding, ect an put some tick/flea repellent as well. We dont have carpet though but we plan to clean the floors none the less.

More Info
His name was Kobe but I like Peaches much better, an he really doesnt respond to Kobe, more to Peaches…to be honest.
Also just to verify he is a sheltie mix, he seems to be one year an a half

Thank you for reading, an thank you as well if you answered. :]
Ok, I’ll get a fogger to clean the house even more so. I just got a vaccum cleaner an have been dumping all the ticks/fleas into the toilet as I suction them up. I also plan to let him relax more tonight an see how he is doing tomorrow morning, if it doesnt seem to look any better I will call the vet tomorrow as well. I do comb him ever so often an he does enjoy that, an sometimes what I think is tick/fleas seems to be scabs, so I’m trying hard not to take those scabs off. I wont mind if he is bald for a bit as well, because I know that when it grows back it will grow back much better. An I’ll also make sure the vet gives him a check up an to tell me if he is more then OK to be neutered on tuesday or to wait a little bit. Thank you everyone, I just really DONT want to give up on Peaches, an I dont want to think its to late for him…

Dog trainer 30 plus years -
Oh love, what a wonderful person you are! First off lets start in with the fleas. If you get yourself some dawn dish soap you can scrub him up with that. (frontline Prevents fleas….but if there is an infestation already you need to do more than that – and the frontline will not work when you bathe them the same week you put it on him it needs time to absorb)
So do the dawn a few times (2-3) leave it on about 4 min. Then rinse & do it again. I will tell you this will dry out his skin…but it will get rid of the fleas. When you are done with the bath…use whatever conditioner you have…just keep it well away from the eyes. I always condition my dogs no matter what, it keeps them from getting dry patches & keeps the fur/hair silky and gives it a real nice shine.
Next check the gums. I am guessing this one may be a bit dehydrated & anemic. If the gums are not bright pink start with this: Give your dog some water…not ice water, just regular tap water. If he is not drinking get a syringe (from a pharmacy/Walmart) and place the syringe to the back of the tongue which will give him the reflex to swallow. All the while chit/chat with your Peaches & tell him how great he is. If he has not poo’d yet his body is probably using everything he is eating to “sustain” itself. But…he will then probably get loose stool…but in time that will also pass. If he is still not moving around much tomorrow or eating/drinking I would see if your vet could squeeze him in, just let them know what is going on. I wish you much luck.

Robert asks…

Pet Allergy? Can someone with a pet allergy be okay if you put the pet in a different room?

Here’s the deal:

I love pets and I’m not allergic to most of them, but a few family members are allergic to anything with fur or feathers, which is why we’ve *never* had a pet besides a few fish and a hermit crab. I want a hamster since that’s the smallest furry pet I can think of, and I love them. So my question is:

Can I put the hamster (in this case) in my room upstairs away from everyone and not have my family member’s get sick? Or will the dander which floats in the air get all through the house anyway?

To give you an idea of how severely allergic they are, I have to strip down as soon as I get in the house and change my clothes because they can *really* tell if I’ve been around someone with cats or dogs. (Eyes itch, nose runs, sneezing, etc.)

Thanks for any help!
By the way, I should add that we have a whole-house filter built into our furnace. And we also have an air filter in almost every room of the house.

admin answers:

I’m allergic to pets too and when I was a kid my little brother got one I got sick he had to get rid of it the next day. The dander will cerculate through the house in the air, it’s probably not the best idea. Sorry about your pet troubles that sucks :(

Betty asks…

Is My Dog Playing With Me Or Attacking Me?

I have a Boxador puppy who clearly has some serious aggression issues. I am not sure whether she is trying to lay or if she is attacking me at this point. I have lots of wounds on my hands, stomach, breasts, neck, and face. Nothing I have tried works. I have tried everything I can think of to get her to stop biting me but everything I do just makes her more crazy. She wasn’t this bad when I first got her. When I picked her up she was very sweet and loved to be held and petted, then a week after I brought her home she started acting up. Whenever she plays with me she gets too rough and when I tell her “no” or put her in time out for biting or anything she just gets mad, then instead of trying to bite my hands or clothing she lunges for my face and neck.

Basically what happens is she likes to play by herself for a while and usually she chews a toy or something, then she gets bored and whines at my feet until I get in the floor to play with her. Her favorite toy is her “Monstie” which is a green fuzzy toy and she likes to tug it and stuff. Then she gets tired of Monstie and tries to tug on me, like on my hands and clothes. When she does this I tell her “no bite” or just “no” and I’ve tried swatting her muzzle lightly to make her release, swatting her butt lightly (I never hit the dog, I just brush my hand against her lightly. I don’t believe in hitting dogs.) I’ve tried holding her mouth shut and saying, “no”, I’ve tried the dominance training thing and gently rolling her over on her back the way mother dogs do, I’ve tried putting her in a room alone for “time out” like one website said to do, I’ve tried redirecting her to a different toy, I’ve tried praising her when she is behaving, I’ve tried the yelping like a wounded puppy to get her to realize she is causing pain, I’ve done it all. EVERYTHING makes her more aggressive. Now when I say “no” she tries to bite my face. Earlier today she bit my neck and wouldn’t let go. I don’t understand this. I have had dogs before and NONE of them have ever acted like this.

I don’t want to get rid of her, but I’m starting to wonder if that is my only option left. I really cannot deal with a dog like this. I have small children family members and elderly family members who visit me often and I can’t have an aggressive dog around them if there is a chance that she could harm one of my family. I really love this dog and she was a gift to me and I would hate to get rid of her, and like I said before she did not act like this when I first got her. When I picked her up she seemed sweet tempered. I would not have chosen this particular dog if I had known she would do this.
I just want to say that I resent the fact that someone suggested that I just wanted to treat my dog like a human child. I specifically chose my dog because I thought she was sweet tempered, yet playful, which was the whole point. Her playfulness is not the issue. The biting me is. I am well aware that dogs are not human children, and in NO way did my question reflect that. I don’t think people should take out their own problems with society when trying to answer an intelligent question on the Internet. If someone has a problem with people treating pets like babies, then they need to deal with those people on a personal basis instead of being a coward and dealing with those issues online.
